ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: At the local church on Sunday 14th May, “Holy Communion” will be held.

The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.

CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Councillor Tracey Taylor on her success in the recent local elections. Tracey will now represent the ward at County level as well as at District level.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local association will hold its AGM on Tuesday 16th May in the Village Hall. Doors open at 7:00pm. This is your chance to come along and air your views or ask questions and find out more about the local association.

Refreshments will be served on the night. Please come along and support your local group and help keep Sutton a safer place to live.

SUTTON AND BARNBY MOOR WI:  Sutton and Barnby Moor W.I. will meet on Wednesday 17th May in Sutton Village Hall at 7:15pm. On this occasion Jean Waring will be doing a flower arranging demonstration. A raffle will be held on the night and the competition will be “Flowers in an egg cup” (make your own mini flower display). Members old and new always welcome.

SUTTON GARDENING CLUB: The club meet on Tuesday 2nd May in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:15pm, with invited speaker Sheila Clarke on hand to address the gathering. Members were treated to a very informal but educational talk on shrubs and plants with a mixture of humour thrown in, much to the delight of those present. The talk was entitled “A garden Odyssey” and after the talk the speaker raffled an arrangement she had made during the evening. Refreshments were then served. Members old and new always welcome.

TABLE TOP AND CAR BOOT SALE: Another sale took place on Sunday 7th May at the Village Hall from 10:00am to 12:00noon (9:00am for sellers). A busier than usual weekend with extra sellers turning up on the day. Refreshments were available.

Free admission and free parking for buyers may attract even more sellers at the next sale which will take place Sunday 4th June at the same times.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: The Neighbours group met as scheduled on Wednesday 10th May in the Gate Inn at 12:30pm and a report will follow when to hand.

SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL:  The Parish Council met on Wednesday 10th May at the usual time of 7:00pm in the Village Hall. A report will follow.
