ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: At the local church on Sunday 2nd July, “Morning Prayer will take place .

The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.

TABLE TOP AND CAR BOOT SALE: The next sale will take place on Sunday 2nd July at the usual starting time of 10:00am (9:00am for sellers). Cost is £5.00 per pitch – limited indoor tables Refreshments available.

GARDENING CLUB: When the club meet on Tuesday 4th July, visiting speaker Steve Lovell will demonstrate to members the art of pruning trees, shrubs and climbers etc. Further details of the club and its activities available from Elaine Hauser on (01777) 705 274.

GREAT SUTTON SHOW: This event is scheduled to take place on Sunday 16th July and the organisers have vacancies for a few moor stalls!

GATE INN: After a very successful Comedy Night at the local hostelry, another event of a similar nature has been arranged and will take place on Friday 11th August.

Back at the venue by public demand is the band who were very highly rated on the last visit, The Manipulators make a welcome return on Friday 14th July. Book your place now!

VINTAGE TEA PARTY: The vintage tea party took place in the Village Hall on Saturday 17th June from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.  A bigger turn out than usual this time as villagers and friends met for an enjoyable  afternoon tea. A selectin of teas to choose from, amongst the most popular being, Assam, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, as well as various fruit teas on offer on the day. A lovely display of cakes on tiered stands to bring back memories of a bygone era.

Another tea party has been arranged by popular request (details to be announced) when you are invited to come along and join your friends and neighbours for a refreshing brew of your very own choosing. An event not to be missed.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local association held their monthly meeting on Wednesday 28th june at the usual time of 2:30pm.and a report will follow.

 

KEEP FIT CLASSES: Keep fit classes continue in the Village Hall every Saturday morning between 9:00am and 9:45am.   Come along and join them, you may lose a few pounds.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: Meet the Neighbours continues to meet at The Gate Inn at 1:00pm on the second Wednesday of the month. The format is unchanged – cooked mains, a small sweet course with coffee and tea, all for £6.00. There is a really entertaining raffle (2 tickets for a £1) and usually a quiz – please take a pen. All in all, it’s a great fun occasion.

Attendance for the first 6 months of 2017 has been over 43 per visit, which has resulted in a real buzz in the restaurant.

SUTTON AND BARNBY MOOR WI: Sutton and Barnby Moor W.I. meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Sutton Village Hall at 7:15pm. Members old and new always welcome.
