ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 16th July there is no service at St. Bartholomew’s but a service with a difference will take place. It will be a “Joint Service” and will take place at St. Swithins in Retford. Please note the service starts at the later time of 11:00am and again everyone is welcome.   Please join fellow worshippers on the day.


GATE INN: Back at the venue by public demand is the band who were very highly rated on the last visit, The Manipulators make a welcome return on Friday 14th July. Book your place now!

GREAT SUTTON SHOW: This event is scheduled to take place on Sunday 16th July and the organisers have vacancies for a few moor stalls!

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: The ladies of the Sutton and Barnby Moor WI will meet on Wednesday 19th July in the Village Hall at the usual starting time of 7:15pm. On this occasion the speaker will give a talk on “Prison Visiting”. Please note that there will be no competition on the night, but a White Elephant stall will operate. Members old and new always welcome.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The committee of the local association will hold its next meeting on Wednesday 26th July at the usual time of 2:30pm.

GATE INN: After a very successful Comedy Night at the local hostelry, another event of a similar nature has been arranged and will take place on Friday 11th August.

PARISH COUNCIL: Sutton Parish Council held their monthly meeting on Wednesday 12th July in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. and a report will follow when to hand.

KEEP FIT CLASSES: Keep fit classes continue in the Village Hall every Saturday morning between 9:00am and 9:45am.   Come along and join them, you may lose a few pounds.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: Meet the Neighbours continues to meet at The Gate Inn at 1:00pm on the second Wednesday of the month. The format is unchanged – cooked mains, a small sweet course with coffee and tea, all for £6.00. There is a really entertaining raffle (2 tickets for a £1) and usually a quiz – please take a pen. All in all, it’s a great fun occasion.

Attendance for the first 6 months of 2017 has been over 43 per visit, which has resulted in a real buzz in the restaurant.
