SUTTON ART GROUP: 20th Annual Sutton Art Group Exhibition: A great time was had at the 20th Annual Sutton Art Group Exhibition on Saturday 25th November. The hall was teeming with beautiful work in all the colours, styles, media and subjects you could imagine. There were almost 300 paintings for sale and around 25 sales were made. Attendance was particularly good in the morning with the hall bursting at the seams when our guest artist Elaine Nash did the honours of opening the proceedings and cutting the celebration cake alongside our very own Joan Reiter who founded the group all those years ago.

The raffle, teas and some artwork sales raised £260 for two local charities – Bassetlaw Hospice and Muddy Fork.  Thank you to all who supported the exhibition.

The Group already has a busy programme for the first 6 months of 2018 – for example, Guest artist Claire Botterill will be leading a workshop using ink, wax and watercolour, dealing with an architectural feature or building. Our regular guest artist Elaine Nash will be running 7 workshops on a variety of themes such as 10 Minute Paintings, Still Life in a Café Setting, and Scarecrows.
