ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: “Holy Communion” will take place at the local church this Sunday 14th January 2018.

RACE NIGHT: The race night will take place at the Village Hall on Friday 12th January at 7:00pm. A cover charge of £6.00 will include pie and peas. Booking essential – no admission on the night.!!

VINTAGE TEAS: Vintage Teas will be taking place at the Village Hall on Saturday 13th January 2018. The event is held from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and further dates will be notified. A full vintage afternoon tea should be ordered in advance by calling Judi on 07970 052 055, or otherwise just call in for tea and cakes and conversation, whilst catching up on all the latest and news and views from in and around the area.

BURNS SUPPER: An independent group from outside the village have decided to organise a Burns Supper in 2018. The event will be held on Friday 26th January 2018 in the Village Hall.

Doors open 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. A few tickets for sale in the village at £29.95 per person.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: There was no meeting of the Neighbours group in January, but they will be back on Wednesday 14th February at the usual starting time of 1:00pm at the Gate Inn.

When neighbours can gather for lunch and catch up on all the latest happenings from in and around the village.

SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL: A vacancy still exists on the Parish Council and if you would like to get involved in the community or feel you have something to offer, then please contact the Clerk to the Council on email   clerk@suttoncumlound.net for further details.

CAR BOOT AND TABLE TOP SALE: The event went ahead as scheduled, with buyers as keen as ever to find a bargain. During the event several enquiries were made with regards to the ever-popular Vintage Tea afternoons held in the Village Hall.

GARDENING CLUB: Sutton Gardening Club has the following updates:

  • Tuesday January 2nd: The Annual Gardening Club Quiz was held at The Gate Inn on Tuesday January 2nd at 7:15pm.  The format was very different to other years. Rob Potterton from Potterton’s Alpine Nursery delivered a Power Point Quiz and there were individual prizes throughout. This was an excellent evening with a great quiz and a fun time was had by all 18 participants
  • Tuesday February 6th: Penny Forsyth – Bee keeping – Life of a Bee Keeper/ Tasting different honey related to different plants. Products will be for sale on the night.
  • Tuesday March 6th: Annette Mackenzie – Attracting Birds to the Garden. She will be bringing a real live owl as part of her talk. Items related to owls etc. will be for sale.
  • Tuesday April 3rd   AGM-Plus Wine and Nibbles – Social Evening.
