ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 1st April, being Easter Sunday, the appropriate service will take place at the local church.
The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
NOW YOU SEE IT – NOW YOU DON’T: How many locals have noticed that the telephone box which stood on the green at the junction of Station Road and Town Street for many, many, years has been removed over the last two weeks. With mobiles ‘phones and other hi-tech devices at an all-time high the local kiosk got very little use and had apparently reached its sell-by date. Where will villagers shelter now as they wait to post letters in the box that is non-operational at present?
YOUTH CLUB: A Youth Club now operates in the village from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. every Tuesday night (except 1st Tuesday in month) and is held in the Village Hall. The event is run by Notts C C Youth Workers and is open to anyone age 11 and above. The sessions will have a Tuck shop, drinks, and games sessions including Darts and Ping-Pong to name but a few. New members always welcome.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The next meeting of the committee of the local association will take place on Wednesday 28th March 2018 at the usual time of 2:30pm.
GARDENING CLUB: When the club meet on Tuesday 3rd of April it will be the occasion of their AGM. There will be no speaker on the night, but members present will be able to elect a new committee and discuss plans for the forthcoming season. Wine and nibbles will be available at the session and those attending can socialise with their peers. It has been a very successful season for the group with a wide variety of speakers and topics, which members state they’ve thoroughly enjoyed.

CAR BOOT AND TABLE TOP SALE: The next car boot and table-top sale will take place on Sunday 8th April at the Village Hall, from 10:00am until 1:00pm (sellers from 9:00am). Free public admission and parking, sellers £5.00 per pitch. Refreshments available on the day and a tombola stall will operate. Could be a bargain waiting for you? GATE INN: There was a very entertaining quiz last Sunday night from Sonny that eventually saw Steve and Sarah pick up the £20 prize. Next week’s quiz changes to Saturday the 31st March to make way for the sell-out stand-up comedy night on the Sunday. The quiz will commence at 9:00pm and will be a music quiz with a game of bingo during the interval. The evening’s entertainment will conclude as usual with a game of play your cards right. Big cash prizes are on offer and everybody is welcome. Same venue – different day and time!! Please note the change … SATURDAY 31st MARCH AT 9:00pm!!
