ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 15th April “A Family Service” will take place at the local church. Please come along and bring the family.

VINTAGE TEAS: Doing anything on Saturday 21st April? Make a date in you diary, because it’s the Vintage Tea week-end, when once again the Vintage Tea rooms will be serving the usual high-class teas in finest bone china complete with a cake stand full of tempting sandwiches and delicious cakes to tempt the palate.
It is essential for those requiring a full vintage tea to book by ringing Judi on 07970 052 055 to arrange the same. This is to avoid disappointment as more and more people are wishing to attend.
Villagers and friends are invited to call in, if passing, to enjoy an afternoon cuppa and a nice piece of cake or treat yourself to the ever-popular cream teas and socialise for the afternoon with friends and neighbours. It’s the place to be for tea, cake and conversation. Don’t miss it.
IDLE IMAGES: The group did not have a meeting in the Village Hall last Thursday morning, but group leader Ron Beare had organised a visit to the bell tower at St. Bartholomew’s and keen photographer’s were allowed on to the tower roof, under the close supervision of Tower Captain Bryan Birkett to view the surrounding area and take pictures as required. A very interesting afternoon for the group with an excellent venue to add to the excitement of the afternoons outing.

CAR BOOT AND TABLE TOP SALE: The boot and table top sale went ahead as planned last Sunday. Not as many sellers as before but those who did arrived were keen to book further sessions. There were bargains to be had on the day, after some searching around, some buyers went home happy with their finds. The next car boot and table-top sale will take place on Sunday 6th May at the Village Hall, from 10:00am until 1:00pm (sellers from 9:00am).

GARDENING CLUB: When the club met on Tuesday 3rd of April it was the occasion of their AGM. There was no speaker on the night, but members present were able to elect a new committee and discuss plans for the forthcoming season. Refreshments were served during the session and those attending then socialised with their peers. It has been a very successful season for the group with a wide variety of speakers and topics, which members state they’ve thoroughly enjoyed.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The committee of the local association met as scheduled on Wednesday 28th March 2018 at the usual time of 2:30pm. The agenda items were dealt with swiftly and accurately with no complications. There was no police presence on the day, so no crime or police report was available to members. The group were unaware of any incidents in the village to date but were advised by the chair to remain vigilant.
