NOTTS POLICE: Did you witness burglaries in Sutton cum Lound? We’re appealing for witnesses following two burglaries in Station Road, Sutton cum Lound,on the evening of Monday 11th March, between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. The suspects smashed the patio door of a house but did not take anything. On the same day, at around 7:50pm, another house was targeted and the window was smashed. The suspects made off with several items of jewellery. If you were in the area and witnessed anything suspicious, please call 101 quoting incident number 828 of 11 March. We’re also keen to speak to any drivers who may have dashcam footage of the incidents.
ABOUT 101: 101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The next meeting of the committee of the local neighbourhood watch group will take place on Wednesday 27th March at the usual time of 2:30pm.
GARDENING CLUB: When the gardening club next meet on Tuesday 2nd April at Barnby Moor village hall it will be the occasion of the groups AGM. Members and visitors are invited to join their peers for wine and nibbles on this occasion, as it is the AGM there will be no speaker on the night. MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: The meeting of the neighbours group took place on Wednesday 20th March at the usual time of 1:00pm in the Village Hall. A report will follow when to hand.
CHURCH SERVICE: Sunday 17th March, being the second Sunday of Lent and also St. Patricks Day, “A Family Service” took place at the local church. A warm welcome, as always awaited worshippers as they arrived for 9:15am. This was followed by the service proper, Act of Worship which commenced at 9:30am. The Officiant on the day was Lay Reader Joan Herrington. Gospel reading was performed by Fiona Pagdin. Intercession: Janet Webb; Organist Geof Webb. The gathering were invited as usual, to remain for refreshments after the service.
PARISH LUNCH: The Parish Lunch took place at the Gate Inn at 12:00noon on Friday 15th March 2019 as scheduled. Another good turnout as regulars and some new faces came along and shared in this meal which is also a fund raising event for the church building project. An excellent meal provided by mine host at the local venue, and thoroughly enjoyed by those present. The event was collated by the local vicar the Reverend Cora Yarrien, Lay Reader Joan Herrington and the local PCC. Another such event is planned for next month and details will be published when to hand.
SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL: The Parish Council met on Wednesday 13th March at the usual time of 7:00pm in Sutton Village Hall. A report will follow.
QUIZ NIGHT: The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. 8:00pm start and bar open.
