LOCAL ELECTIONS: Villagers are reminded that Bassetlaw District Council Elections will take place in Sutton Village Hall on Thursday 2nd May 2019. The Polling Station will be open at the usual times. Don’t miss your chance to vote.

WELL SPOTTED: Concerns were raised when residents observed a person in a high-visability vest standing at times in the middle of Station Road in the village. Don’t panic, and to dispel any unwanted rumours (already rife) such as Networkrail increasing the track to four lines, crossing closures or even footbridges, the answer was quite simple. The operator was surveying the crossing and marking the highway accordingly, as part of his remit from rail authorities and included level crossings from Doncaster to London as part of upgrading the railtrack system, which will eventually be carried out throughout the country.

PARISH LUNCHES: The date for the next Parish Lunch has been confirmed. The event will take place on Tuesday 14th May at the Gate Inn at the usual starting time of 12:00noon.
