While there are no formal Health Services provided on a regular basis within the village, Bassetlaw Primary Care Trust manages an extensive array of facilities within the Retford and surrounding area area.
The Primary Care Trust (PCT) brings together General Practitioners (GPs), Community Nurses, Practice Nurses, other community services and other agencies dealing with health matters within the Bassetlaw area. Bassetlaw PCT help to ensure everyone receives appropriate local services for their needs.

Urgent and Emergency Out-of-Hours Care
Bassetlaw Primary Care out of Hours Service is a locally based service in Bassetlaw, which aims to ensure that all patients have access to high quality local services. Local GPs and nurse practitioners are involved in providing the service to patients with urgent conditions that cannot wait until your GP surgery is next open. This service is in addition to the Accident & Emergency services provided at Bassetlaw Hospital.
The service operates every single day of the year and it covers the following times:
- Monday to Friday, 6:30pm to 8:00am
- Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays throughout the 24 hour period

NHS Direct
NHS Direct is at the forefront of 24-hour health care – delivering telephone and e-health information services day and night direct to the public. Although the organisation started out in 1997, it has been growing and changing over that time, most noticeably since April 2004.
It is now far more than a telephone health line – NHS Direct has an authoritative health website, and 2004 saw the addition of the NHS Direct digital TV service – one of the largest interactive services in the UK. Over two million people now access NHS Direct every month.
