SPEED WATCH

Following last week’s report of the local Speed Watch Team being revamped, the more observant drivers entering or passing through the village will have noticed the police road safety unit operating in the Mattersey Road area of the village last week. These events occur periodically to support the local volunteers who give their time freely to help reduce speeding vehicles in the vicinity and make the community a safer place for all residents and visitors alike. Villagers have become more aware of the dangers since the part-demolition of the wall surrounding the green near the local public house/restaurant in the village during the festive season. Luckily, no serious injuries were sustained on that occasion. Thanks must go to the drivers who slowed down on entering the village. Those who failed to do so may find their letter in the post.

RURAL / WILDLIFE CRIME

Rural Crime Officers were out and about on Friday 28th January 2022, and also again on Sunday 30th January. These will incorporate patrols around the villages. If residents see anything suspicious, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on the non-emergency number 101, and make people aware of the situation. Your help would be much appreciated.
