New Year Party

Join us for our New Year’s Eve Party on Sunday 31 December 2023 from 8:00pm to 1:00am. Tickets are £15.00 each in advance to include disco and buffet. Reserve your tickets by phoning our answerphone service on (01777) 854 410 or emailing tickets@suttonvillagehall.net and leaving your name, contact phone number, email address and number of tickets, so payment information can be sent.

Quiz Night

The next quiz night will take place on Sunday 12th November 2023 at 7:30pm.

Volunteer quiz master Ken will be testing your knowledge again with his latest quiz, so why not come along and try your luck and brainpower against your fellow quizzers?

Entry £1.00 per person, with cash prizes for the winning team.

Network Rail

Network Rail issue the following information:

Essential workings are scheduled to take place in the vicinity of the Level Crossing on the Station Road area of the village. The work involves cutting back overgrown lineside vegetation from around overhead line structures.

The workings will take place between Botany Bay Level Crossing and Torworth Crossing, accessing at Barnby Moor and Sutton cum Lound Crossing.

The teams will be working from Tuesday 15th November until Friday 17th November from 01:30 to 05:15 hours each night and restrictions may apply.

Network Rail apologise for any inconvenience caused during these times.

Community Group

Sutton cum Lound residents Laura and Kathryn would appreciate comments and feedback on their project to start a regular monthly event on Saturday evenings, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, and will include a seasonal main activity and plenty of fun and games.

Please get in touch with Laura on 07929 213 892 if you would like to join the planning committee or submit your ideas, hobbies and interests on what would make a good main activity.

Sutton Parish Council

The council met as planned on Wednesday 8th November 2023 in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. A report will follow when to hand.

Gardening Club

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Gardening Club had to cancel the monthly meeting scheduled for Tuesday 7th November 2023.

Hopefully things will return to normal next month and members will be notified accordingly! Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

A Remembrance Service will take place at the local church on Sunday 12th November. Everybody welcome!

The Post office operates in the Village Hall on Wednesdays from 10:00am to 12:30pm. Services offered include banking, Cash Deposits, Cash Withdrawals, Bill Payments plus lots more.

We also have the Sutton Spotlight, which goes out to every house in the village on a quarterly (ish) basis. Space is sometimes limited, so try to get your entry in early.

We’re also lucky to have a village Journalist who collates news and updates for the Retford Times on a weekly basis. Get your copy in on Monday morning for the Thursday issue.
