ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 10th a “Sung Eucharist” will take place at the local church. The service starts at 9 30am and everyone is welcome.
LOST AND FOUND: Misty the bearded collie cross, who went missing from her home in Barnby Moor last Saturday, having recently been rescued from a local animal sanctuary has been found safe and well. Several reports from members of the public indicated the dog was seen in the Sutton area, the owners with help of the local dog warden acting on information received were successful in recovering their pet earlier this week.
They were overwhelmed by the offers of help received from the local community and would like to thank everyone concerned.
POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.
SUTTON APRIL CLUB: The next meeting of the group will be tomorrow, Friday 8th April at the normal venue, Sutton Village Hall at the usual time of 2:00pm. Members old and new always welcome
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: Next Tuesday 12th April is the day you can meet your neighbours in the Village Hall at 2:00pm.
This is an opportunity for friends and neighbours to get together and catch up on all the latest views from in and around the area. Afternoon tea is optional but recommended.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The Committee of the local association met on Tuesday 29th March at 2:30pm. Various topics came under discussion, including:
Finalising details of the groups forthcoming AGM, scheduled to take place on Monday 16th May in Sutton Village Hall at 7:30pm.
It was agreed the village should be leafleted as in previous years, and this will be done nearer the time.
Inspector Jenny Madin, the local Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for East Bassetlaw was the invited guest at the meeting and despite her busy schedule, still found time to address the group on the changes taking place within the force from 1st April 2011.
Surveys have been conducted recently to find out the needs of local people and anyone who has not completed one can do so online, at the Nottinghamshire Police Web site.
In a Police and Crime report, the theft of fuel oil is high on the list of priorities, with thefts from farms, transport depots and domestic properties on the increase.
A document “Preventing Fuel Oil Theft” will be available shortly from the Area Beat Manager or the local PCSO and will outline methods to prevent these incidents. Neighbourhood Watch may also have access to a few copies.
The question of off road biking was raised and this situation is being addressed on a regular basis.
The next meeting of the group will be on Tuesday 26th April 2011.
PARISH COUNCIL: The Parish Council will meet on Wednesday 13th April 2011 in the Village Hall at 7:00pm. Villagers are invited to join them.
IDLE VALLEY SOCIETY: Sub-postmaster Michael Carnall was the guest speaker when the group met on Tuesday 5th April at Barnby Moor Village Hall at 7:30pm. A full report will follow next week.

QUIZ NIGHT: More teams than ever battled it out on Sunday evening when the weekly quiz took place at the Gate Inn. One or two thought they were in with a chance after getting two or three questions right in succession, but it was not to be, thanks to craft and guile of quizmaster John Jones “Another brew chief” were declared the winners in the end, with a fair majority.
Congratulations to them! Another quiz on Sunday 9pm start.
