NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local association report the following:
East Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Police Inspector Jenny Madin will take up a new post as from last week in a management restructuring programme.
The Inspector who has been the Local Area Commander for the past 19 months will move on to manage the Response teams as opposed to the Neighbourhood Team and will still be based at Retford.
An avid supporter of Neighbourhood Watch groups in the area the Inspector was always on hand to offer advice and support when needed and often attended local association meetings, as and when staffing levels permitted. The officer will be sadly missed in East Bassetlaw especially in the rural communities.
The local association look forward to meeting and supporting Inspector Simon Pealing who replaces the present incumbent.
Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Watch are asking members to remain alert to the ongoing problem of copper wire being stolen from right across our area, telephone cables and electric cables are all being cut and stolen so keep a good look out in your area. If suspicions are aroused please report the incident, advice is available on 101 the new non-emergency number.
PCSO: The PCSO for the area is 4735 Catherine Phillips who can be contacted direct on: Mobile: 07525 409 789.
SNOW WORRIES: The Parish Council has a small stockpile of winter salt available for the coming months and as much as we would all like to have the same stockpile in spring, the last two winters would suggest otherwise. Please contact the Clerk or any Councillor if you have problems.

PUBLIC MEETING: Housing development within Sutton?
A public meeting took place in Sutton Village Hall on Monday 5th December, commencing at 4:00pm to discuss potential housing development sites within Sutton cum Lound. Whether you are against further development within the village or not, it was important for residents to have their say. The event was well attended with a continuous influx of locals anxious to find out exactly what is planned for the village and what sites, if any, have been earmarked for future development.
Bassetlaw representatives were on had to provide information and advise residents.
Councillor Liz Yates was also in attendance at this event.

VILLAGE VENTURES: Fewer people than usual turned up for the last Village Ventures presentation of the year. New Perspectives theatre Company, a group who are no strangers to the village, once again provided an excellent night of live entertainment, which was thoroughly enjoyed by those present.
Basically a one man show (not forgetting the sound and lighting engineer) a well rehearsed, well scripted, well presented show which was well received on the night.
The result ??? Oh yes … Steeple Sinderby Wanders, did against all the odds, win the F A Cup.
