NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local association held their meeting on Tuesday 31st January 2012, as scheduled at the usual time of 2:30pm.

The following items came under discussion:

  • The date for the local associations AGM has been agreed and is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 15th May 2012 at Sutton Village Hall. Residents will be notified nearer the time.
  • Reporting incidents was also high-lighted, the group were reminded that failure to report even a minor incident can alter the crime figures dramatically. This may even lead to a reduction or curtailment of a Police presence in the village. Coverage of the area is often based on the number of incidents reported.Hot-spots will therefore command more of a uniform presence than a sleepy rural village with little to no incidents recorded.

The local group report the following incident:

  • On the afternoon of Saturday 4th February 2012 two men from the Worksop area of Nottinghamshire were arrested by Police Officers after being observed on land in the Morton area digging at a Badger set. The men were detained with the help of the Police helicopter. Enquiries are continuing and the Police are requesting assistance from anyone who may be able to provide any information in the prosecution-of-these offenders.

Please contact your local Beat officer PC 1215 Steve Bolstridge on 07525 226 886 or 101 extension 807 7362 or contact Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

With extra teams taking part and questions being a bit harder (some thought)  bit of consternation took place during the night, but a winning team did eventually emerge when the local team “Seagulls” were declared winners.

The winning team opted for the cash prize on offer and left the mystery prize as just that. Another quiz is scheduled for next Sunday at the Gate starting at 9:00pm.
