SUTTON EXERCISE GROUP: The former Zumba classes, which proved too energetic for some who attended, have now been tailored to suit all groups who attend.

This will include very gentle warm up exercises suitable for beginners and those who want to basically keep fit. As people progress, the programme will be stepped up accordingly, if required. All conducted under the watchful eye of a qualified instructor.

On Monday 30th April a free, yes a free session, will be held in the Village Hall at 7:00pm in order to show the varying degrees of programmes available and to find out which programme suits who. Come along and join the regulars have fun and find out what programme suits you.

It will be fun and it will be free !! Don’t miss it.

ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: “A Service with a Difference, will take place on Sunday 29th April at the local church. Please come along and join in. The service commences at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.

POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The committee of the local association met on Tuesday 24th April at 27 Portland Place at 2:30pm, and a full report will follow next week.

CAN YOU HELP?: Raise money for your charity by collecting empty ink cartridges.

Please collect as many ink cartridges as possible from neighbours, co-workers and family.

Bring the cartridges to your charity and place them in the recycling box which by kind permission of Mrs Pick will be sited in the village store or ring the Village Hall number if collection required: 07092 985 831.

The first lot of cartridges have been dispatched and a payment has been made.

QUIZ NIGHT: Extra teams turned up at the Gate Inn on Sunday night to take part in this very popular Quiz Night. After a closely fought competition the final winners turned out to be one of the new teams led by local man Nigel Johnson.

Another quiz is scheduled to take place this coming Sunday starting at 9:00pm. Can you compete?

PCSO’S: On Monday evening two PCSO’s were seen patrolling the village on foot, leaving their vehicle in a central position and making a tour of the village. This included looking in on the play park behind the Village Hall and the school playground. A general look around the village then took place.

Villagers were pleased to see a uniform presence in the village and hope it may be a regular occurrence.

SUTTON ART GROUP: The group will meet as usual on Friday mornings and will continue throughout the season. Further details available from Joan Reiter on 01777 702 137 or Margaret Beare on 01777 704 836.

PARISH PLAN: Plans are already in the making for the forthcoming celebrations and the Parish Plan Steering Group are still looking for offers of help to organise the village celebrations planned for the Queens Diamond Jubilee over the period 2nd – 5th June 2012.

VILLAGE SPEEDWATCH: Efforts are continuing to try and get the scheme off the ground, so far one volunteer has come forward.   A team of four would be a good start and allow the scheme to operate after training has been completed.

If you have issues or concerns about speeding motorists and can spare approximately two hours per month then the Clerk to the Council would like to hear from you!
