Jubilee Celebrations: The village is getting ready for the final touches to the Jubilee celebrations, and we need your help in finalising numbers for children wishing to attend the tea party, and also a final reminder to reserve your Barn Dance tickets as spaces are now at a premium.
You should soon be receiving a special edition of the Sutton Spotlight with a full programme of events, and this will also be available online from Saturday 26th May. Read on for more details.
Children’s Tea Party : The Village Hall is hosting a FREE tea party on Sunday 3rd June for all children in the village. You must register their names with the Village Hall so they know how many to expect. Please note that all children must be supervised.

Flower Festival and Music: St Bartholomew’s Church will be hosting a Flower Festival on Sunday 3rd, Monday 4th, and Tuesday 5th. Local organists and musicians will also be on hand in the church to provide music on Sunday 3rd June.
Picnic in the Park : Join us for a Picnic in the Park on Sunday 3rd. Have a family day on Portland Green listening to the Brass Band, or at the Village Hall while the children enjoy the new Play Area.
POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The committee held its 13th AGM on Tuesday 15th May at Sutton Village Hall, a full report will follow. A jubilee tree dedication shall be taking place at 10:30am at St Bartholomew’s church on Sunday 3rd June.

SUTTON EXERCISE GROUP: (former Zumba group): This group meets on Mondays at 7:00pm at the Village Hall under the careful instruction of Kelly. There are many aspects of keep fit and the group are currently enjoying a mix of Zumba, Boxercise, Circuit Training and Floor work / stretching exercises. Kelly is happy to put together a programme to suit all needs, so pop along and join us.

VILLAGE SPEEDWATCH: Efforts are continuing to try and get the scheme off the ground, so far one volunteer has come forward. A team of four would be a good start and allow the scheme to operate after training has been completed.
