
Can you help locate a lorry seen in Mansfield?
Police investigating a report of a suspicious incident are trying to trace a lorry seen in the Mansfield area this morning.
A motorist reported seeing a man lifting a young girl into the back of a red, curtain-sided, articulated lorry.
It happened while the vehicle was parked on the side of the road near to the junction of Abbott Road and the A617 Marr Route at about 8.20am.
The girl did not appear to be in any distress and there have been no reports of any missing person.
Officers are trying to locate the driver of the lorry to ensure the girl is safe and well.
The lorry was pillar-box red in colour, curtain-sided, with black straps at the side and metal doors at the back. It also had black or white writing on the side and was parked facing the direction of the Water Lane.
The man is described as white, aged between 30 and 40, about 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall, of stocky build, with shaved brown hair. He was wearing a high visibility jacket and jeans.
The girl was around six or seven years old with blonde hair in a pony tail. She was wearing beige trousers and a sky blue, long sleeved, top.
The driver of the lorry or anyone who believes they may have seen the vehicle, the driver, or anyone with information about the incident, is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
