Presented by New Perspectives

In 1853, Charles Dickens took to the stage for the first time to read from A Christmas Carol, in a series of readings that would include extracts from many of his most famous works.

Never before had a single actor brought such a rich tapestry of humanity to life in a single evening – truly, as a contemporary critic wrote, ‘Mr Dickens is the greatest reader of the greatest writer of the age’.

To mark the bicentenary of Dickens’ birth, New Perspectives recreates that first reading – the perfect way to experience his original heart-warming, spine-tingling Christmas story.
