VILLAGE VENTURES: The Virginia Monologues was supported by a full house on Friday 12th October. The audience seemed to empathise with many aspects of Virginia Ironside reaching 60+ and retracing her sometimes misspent youth!

Ticket prices are £8.00 (£4.00 for 16’s and under) Doors open 7:00pm.

POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.

SUTTON EXERCISE GROUP (former Zumba group): This group meets on Mondays at 7:00pm at the Village Hall under the careful instruction of Kelly. There are many aspects of keep fit and the group are currently enjoying a mix of Zumba, Boxercise, Circuit Training and Floor work / stretching exercises. Kelly is happy to put together a programme to suit all needs, so pop along and join us. Entry is £5.00 (18’s and over only please).

COUNCILLOR SURGERY: Nottinghamshire County Councillor Liz Yates will be holding her morning surgery at Sutton Village Hall on Saturday 20th October from 10:30am.  Please feel free to call in and chat to Liz on any matters that she can perhaps assist with.  Confidentiality assured.

VILLAGE HALL UPDATE:  Residents and local user groups may well be aware that the next phase of the hall refurbishment works is well under-way. The “new” ladies toilet is now operational and just awaiting the final touches. The Gents refurbishment has started this week and this phase should be completed within the next 2 weeks. Soft furnishings and final fixings to the main hall are ongoing and the VHC hope to complete these before the Christmas festivities begin. As ever we ask for our users to be supportive whilst the work is being undertaken and hope that any disruptions will be minimal.

PARISH COUNCIL: The Parish Council plan to hold the tree lighting ceremony in conjunction with Sutton cum Lound C of E primary school on Saturday 1st December at 5:30pm. Whilst plans are still in the early stages please put this date in your diary.

WHEELIE BINS: Residents are reminded that GREEN bins should be put out for collection late on Monday night 22nd October or early Tuesday morning.
