PARISH COUNCIL: Sutton Parish Council would like to invite one and all to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony that will take place on the 1st December at 17:30 on the small village green. Reverend Sue Caddy will say a few words, followed by traditional carols from Harworth Brass Band with involvement from the children of Sutton cum Lound School.

Jane and Mark Pick of Picks General Store have generously agreed to add to the festivities with traditional mince pies and mulled wine available to all those who can attend.

ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: A “Sung Eucharist” will take place at the local church on Sunday 18th November.   The service starts at the usual time of 9:30am and everybody is welcome.

POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local association report the following incidents:

  • Between 23 00 on Friday 2nd November and 12 50 on Saturday 3rd November a secured shed has been entered on Sutton Lane and items stolen.

KELLY J FITNESS: Monday evening’s “Fitness for All”, classes again attracted a fair number of people. Held in the Village Hall every Monday evening, this popular event is now gaining new members each week who are keen to take part in regular exercise and keep fit activities. A fully qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor is on hand to put members through their paces with exercises tailored to suit individual needs. More classes next Monday night at 6:45pm.

VILLAGE VENTURES: Tickets are now on sale for the next production in the Village Ventures series, “A Christmas Carol”. In 1853 Charles Dickens took to the stage for the first time to read from a Christmas Carol, in a series of readings that would include extracts from many of his most famous works.

New Perspectives Theatre Company recreates that first reading – the perfect way to experience his original heart-warming, spine-tingling Christmas story.

Thursday 6th December in Sutton Village Hall at 7:30pm.

SUTTON ART GROUP: The Art Groups Annual Exhibition will take place on Saturday 17th November in the Village Hall from 11:00am – 4:00pm.

Admission is free and there will be a selection of pictures for sale on the day.
