Christmas is coming, burglars will be about
They will try to get in when they know you are out
Those lovely presents you have bought
They’ll help themselves without a thought
Stop them now; don’t let them do the deed
You yourself can help, just follow this lead
All joking aside, Christmas is less than two weeks away. No doubt you will all be out buying presents for your family and friends, spending your hard earned money to give pleasure to those you love and care about.
Please don’t give thieves an opportunity to get their presents for free.
We all love to wrap our presents and put them under the Christmas tree, the burglar knows this too. Most thieves are opportunists and they are always on the look out for easy pickings. They are experts at spotting open windows and an insecure home so make sure you are one step ahead of them – keep your property safe and your home secure, that way you’ll be able to enjoy your lovely Christmas presents for many years to come.
Follow these simple points to ensure that you have done all you can to secure your property.
- Lock all doors and windows even when you are in your home.
- Don’t leave your valuables on show.
- Use automatic timers to switch lights on in different rooms.
- Close curtains and blinds after dark.
- If a burglar alarm is installed set it before going out.
- Fit security lights to the outside of the property.
- Secure gates to back of your house with strong locks.
Looking at your security will go along way in ensuring you have a merry Christmas and not one with filled with tears and regrets.
