Jason Crofts (Police, PC 1146, West Bassetlaw, East Bassetlaw & Sherwood)

About 19:30 hours on Wednesday 17th April 2013 a male called at an address on Garside Street in Worksop claiming to be from A1 Housing to check the electric meter.

A1 have subsequently confirmed that it was not an A1 employee as they would not work at that time in the evening unless it was pre-arranged and that they do not read electricity meters.

The occupant was uncertain of the intentions of the male.

The male was not seen to attend any other addresses and drove off after being challenged by the occupant asking for ID.

The male is described as a white male aged in his late 40’s. He was about 5’6” tall and had a stocky build wearing jeans and trainers and a fleece over which he was wearing a fluorescent top. He had a ‘scruffy’ beard and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with information about this or similar incidents is urged to ring the police on 101 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number of 0800 555 111.
