Now spring is finally starting to arrive Nottinghamshire Police Pre Crime Unit would like to remind people to consider the security of their gardens, sheds and garages to prevent burglary and theft this spring.
This time of year traditionally sees an increase in thefts from gardens and sheds. Homeowners can take some simple and cost-effective measures that could reduce them becoming a victim.
Lock away gardening tools and ensure ladders are kept securely locked with a good chain and padlock. Tools may be of little value to you, but they may be very valuable to a burglar who is looking for something to break into your home.
If you have a shed in your garden, think about how much it would cost to replace all the tools and other property stored in there – it will probably add up to more than you think!
