Teen charged following Worksop death

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter.

It follows the death of Glen Kitchens, 40, who was assaulted in Worksop on Saturday 6 April.

Officers were called to Bridge Street, at it’s junction with Central Avenue and Ryton Street, at about 7:30pm.

Six teenagers were arrested in relation to the incident. Five have since been released.

The charged 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will remain in custody until his appearance at court in Mansfield tomorrow morning (Wednesday 10 April 2013).

Mr Kitchens was pronounced dead at Bassetlaw District Hospital. A post-mortem examination concluded that he died from head trauma.
