ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: At the local church on Sunday 9th June a ”Sung Eucharist” will take place. The service commences at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car insurance, investments and Savings.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: When the neighbours group meet on Tuesday 11th June there will be a treat in store now that the good weather has arrived.
The organisers have arranged a strawberry and cream tea for those attending on the day, as well as the usual items that take place, i.e. the raffle and current information update all done whilst socialising over afternoon tea.
You are invited to come and join them and bring a friend. Don’t miss it.!!
BOBBIES ON BICYCLES: You must have seen him? If not, you will in the near future. Yes, your local PCSO Aaron Stocks has now got the latest model in mountain bike complete with Police written on it and go faster stripes and has already completed patrols around the village on the said machine.
Many residents will remember village bobbies riding bikes around their beat not so many years ago, could it be history repeating itself?
It will be nice to see a uniform presence in and around the area.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: When the ladies of Sutton and Barnby Moor WI meet on the night of Wednesday 19th June in Sutton Village Hall, it will be an evening with a difference. Mr Don Sharpe (Hearing dogs for the Deaf) will be on hand complete with dog to demonstrate the important part that these specially trained dogs play in the life of those with hearing difficulties.
President Mrs Jackie Payne welcomes members and visitors to join them on this and any other occasion for an interesting night out with the local WI.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local Neighbourhood Watch Association held their AGM on the evening of Tuesday 21st May in the Village Hall.
A group of 25 people in attendance were addressed by Chairman Harry Hopkins who opened the meeting and worked his way through the agenda items.
The present committee stood down on this occasion but declared their willingness to stand for re-election if required, with the exception of Peter Bates and Nigel Johnson.
With no nominations received prior to, and none from the floor on the evening some members of the former committee were re-elected en bloc to serve for a further twelve months and carried unanimously from the floor. The chairman gave notice of two vacancies on the committee due to the resignations announced previously.
The guest speaker for the evening was Paddy Tipping the Police Crime Commissioner for the area. Prior to his arrival PCSO 8139 Dave Airey informed the meeting of the latest crime figures and gave a short talk on general security and how remaining vigilant can and has aided Police in their fight against crime.
On arrival Police Commissioner Tipping took the floor and outlined his policies and his expectations for the future and explained how these might be funded.
He invited members to join in a questions and answer session and much information was gained by either side. He was very impressed by the local Neighbourhood Watch set up and stated his support for ‘watch schemes in general.
On completion of the event a light buffet was available as members discussed the highlights of the evening.
VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE: The Village Hall Committee held their AGM on Wednesday 22nd May in the Village Hall at 7:30pm.
PARISH COUNCIL: The Council will meet as usual on Wednesday 12th June in the Village Hall at 7:00pm. Chair of the Council Angela Close and her fellow Councillors invite you to join them.
Please make an effort to attend as you may find something that affects you and others and you will have a chance to air your views.

JUMBLE SALE: A good old fashioned jumble sale will take place at Sutton Village Hall on Saturday 15th June commencing at 10:00am until 12:30pm.
Entry is free, everybody is welcome and refreshments are available on the day.
