SCHOOL NEWS UPDATE: On Friday 1st November the school will be holding an open morning from 9:00am to 11:30am. Villagers are invited to explore the newly furbished classrooms, use of technology and the learning in which the pupils are engaged. Any parent or carer who may be choosing their child’s first school place and would like to visit the school are very welcome to attend.
COFFEE MORNING: The next coffee morning has been arranged by Kathryn and Brian Seddons will take place on Saturday 19th October from 10:30am – 12:30pm in the Village Hall. A £2.00 entrance fee will get you coffee / tea, cake or biscuits which you can enjoy whilst you catch up in all the latest news from in and around the village. Everybody is welcome, please come and join them.
CRAFT CLASSES: The craft classes continue at the Village Hall every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, with new enquires arriving most days.

ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: A “Family Service” will take place on Sunday 20th October at the local church. Please come along and bring the family. The service starts at the usual time of 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
NETWORKRAIL: Give notice that level crossing improvement works are due to take place at the Barnby Moor and Sutton level crossing on Station Road in the village. These improvements are a vital aspect of the strategy to provide a safe, reliable and efficient railway service fit for the 21st century.
Work will be under taken from Saturday 19th October from 22:45pm until Sunday 20th October at 8:55am and the road will be closed during these times.
The equipment used means some disturbance is unavoidable but every effort will be taken to minimise any unreasonable noise. Please note that those working on site are briefed on working responsibly in the local community.
SUTTON SPOTLIGHT: The latest edition of the Spotlight hit the village streets over the last few days albeit a bit later than expected. The delay was unavoidable due to a variety of reasons beyond the control of the editorial / production and distribution team part of the army of volunteers who make it all happen.

Information in this issue concerning Alarm Cold Callers was on the mark when village residents were contacted re monitored alarm systems. Advice was sought from PCSO Aaron Stocks and villagers advised accordingly.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: The members met on Wednesday 16th October in the Village Hall as scheduled and an update will follow.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The next meeting of the local committee is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 29th October 2013 at the usual time of 2:30pm.
SUTTON ART GROUP: The group meet every Friday morning in the Village Hall and will continue throughout the season. A few vacancies exist within the group at this time and further details of the group and their activities are available from either:

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: There was no meeting of the group on Tuesday 8th October. Due to unforeseen circumstances and personal commitments it has been decided to postpone the monthly group meetings until further notice. Further information will follow when available.

VILLAGE HALL BOOKINGS: Enquiries with regard to the booking of the Village Hall should be made by contacting 07092 985 831. POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays 9:30am to 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am to 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car insurance, investments and Savings.
WHEELIE BINS: Residents are reminded that green bins should be put out for collection late on Monday night 21st October or early Tuesday morning.
