NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The committee of the local association held their monthly meeting on Wednesday 27th November at the usual time of 2:30pm and the following items were amongst many that came under discussion:

  • A larger than normal Police presence in the Village on Friday 18th October had caused concern amongst elderly residents. Because of ongoing operational activities the police have unable to give further information at this time.
  • Police Report: In the absence of the police the Secretary raised two issues:
  • The Nottinghamshire Alert system currently appears not to be providing information about crime in Sutton cum Lound
  • There have been changes to the Police website which make it difficult to find local crime information and details of local PCSOs and Beat Managers. Tracey Taylor reported that the police were aware of the changes and the, now, poor user interface.
  • It was also noted that The Safer Neighbourhood Groups had been replaced by Police Priority Meetings and that attendance from the Bassetlaw area was very poor thought to be due to a breakdown in communications.
  • Dog fouling continues to be an issue, and it was noted that larger signs are to be made available
  • It was reported that Victim Support has made it known that new funding promised by the police commissioner will enable the continued support for the provision of security door latches  for vulnerable people
