SUTTON FLOWER AND PRODUCE SHOW: Reminder about the Sutton Flower and Produce Show on Saturday 13th September. In order to aid planning please return your Intentions form as soon as possible to 10 Mire Lane or send a summary of your Intentions by email to gardeningclub@suttoncumlound.net.
If you have lost the form listing the show categories, a copy is displayed in the notice board by the bus shelter adjacent to Picks Store. Alternatively you can find all you need here.
If you are away on the day of the Show why not arrange for a friend to submit your entries between 10:00am and 11:30am at the Village Hall?
GATE INN: The local hostelry is closed for the next few weeks, the previous incumbent moving on to pastures new. Local information indicates the establishment will re-open in due course and further information will be made available when received.
ST BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 7th September at the local church, “Morning Prayer” will be held. The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
SPEED WATCH: The local Speed watch volunteers have now been given a date to undergo training in the use of the apparatus used in the speed reduction programme.
The group will meet early next week for their induction to the scheme.
VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE: The committee met as scheduled in the hall on Wednesday 27th August where various items came under discussion, these included: Finance, Maintenance and Fundraising. Suggestions were put forward for a Christmas Coffee morning, A quiz night, Christmas Draw, and a Family Fun night. Details and dates will be published as soon as plans are finalised. Any ideas or suggestions from villagers will be welcomed.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The next meeting of the Parish Council is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 10th September 2014 at the usual time of 7:00pm in the Village Hall. Chairmen Ron Beare and his fellow councillors invite you to join them.
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: Will patrons please note that there will be no meeting of the Neighbours group on Tuesday 9th September but the good news is the team will be back on the following Tuesday, 16th September, at the usual time of 2:00pm. in the Village Hall.
You are invited to join them for the first meeting of the new session, when you can catch up on all the latest news and views from in and around the area.
SUTTON ART GROUP: The group meet every Friday morning in the Village Hall and will continue throughout the season. Further details of the group and their activities are available from either:
