ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: Sunday 29th March is “Palm Sunday” at the local church. Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in all four canonical Gospels.
The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
SUTTON APRIL CLUB: The Sutton April Club will meet on Friday 3rd April at the usual time of 2:00pm.
SUTTON GARDENING CLUB: The next meeting of Sutton Gardening Club will take place on Tuesday 7th April in the Village Hall at 7:15pm.
The Gardening Club Talk on this occasion will be by Kathy Hart of Nectar and Pollen and sister of one of the club members Sally Hill. Kathy will talk about Wildlife Friendly Plants.

FORTIES NIGHT: Tickets are still available for the 40’s night to be held in the Village Hall. The event, organised by Village Hall committee is scheduled to take place on Saturday 18th April and will start at 7:30pm. With live entertainment on the night, featuring well known 40’s style singer Joyce Darling, villagers and friends are invited to come along and join in as we remember and sing the “Songs that won the war”.
Dig out your old uniforms, and make it a night to remember. Period dress not compulsory but recommended.

A licensed bar will operate on the night and a donation from the event will go to “Help for Heroes”.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: When the ladies of the Sutton and Barnby Moor WI met on Wednesday 18th March at 7:15pm in the Village Hall, the speaker was Pat Hutson.
Pat soon had the group smiling and some even laughing as she launched into her repertoire of Poems, prose and anecdotes all performed in various dialects, including Norfolk and American twangs amongst many others. In the absence of President Jackie Payne local resident and now poet, Monica Hockenhull gave the customary vote of thanks. (in verse, of course). Refreshments were in the capable hands of Pauline Marsh and Monica Hockenhull, bringing another successful evening to a close for the ladies of the local WI.
Future events scheduled for Wednesday 15th April will be an open meeting, with a presentation on the work of the RNLI. Entry is free but there will be a small charge for refreshments. Everybody welcome.
QUIZ NIGHT: Another good turn out on Sunday evening at the Gate Inn for the weekly quiz night. In the absence of regular quiz-master, John Jones, a former village resident took the chair for the evening. Slightly different format this week but questions just as difficult as before and still high scoring totals at the end of the evening.
The usual Gate supper helped quizzers through the night with plenty of banter and jovial quips making the night a fun event as always.
Same again next Sunday, usual starting time of 8:00pm.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local Neighbourhood Watch Association met on Wednesday 25th March at the usual time of 2:30pm. A report will follow next week.
