Ola.
Anyone visiting the village site over the past couple of days will have noticed that it’s been unavailable. It’s been through a number of incarnations over the years but hasn’t had a refresh since 2011. As a result of the world moving on around it, it’s been creaking and more recently things have started to break. So, I’ve taken the decision to rebuild it.
All the content is still there, but may have moved around. So, if anyone has any bookmarked pages or posts I suggest you refresh these too, otherwise you may find they’ve broken.
The old forums were run as an add-on to the main site, but had reached the point where they were unmaintainable. As a result they’ve now been integrated into the village site itself. All previously registered users are still there, but it’s not been possible to save the content. Apart from an odd post, there hasn’t been any activity for over a year. So, since there are apparently no currently burning issues, it seemed like a good time for a reboot of these as well. Functionally these (should) work in the same way as the old ones; you need to be registered to contribute (unless you’re a previous contributor) but after that it’s just a matter of typing. There may be some remaining turbulence as the new site beds down, but hopefully this will be minimal. If you do experience anything untoward or have any questions about the site then please drop me a mail at: webmaster@suttoncumlound.net
