ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: “Songs of Praise” will take place at the local church on Sunday 23rd August. The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
On Monday 24th August, St. Bartholomew’s Day Communion will take place at 6:00pm. and again a warm welcome awaits you.
SUTTON AND BARNBY MOOR W.I.: As in previous years there was no meeting of the local group this month. A few members got together for a communal meal on Wednesday evening at the Markham Moor Inn.
The group will meet again in September at the same venue at the usual starting time of 7:15pm. Members old and new always welcome.
GATE INN: The quiz night held at the local hostelry every Sunday evening is gaining momentum as teams set out to win the much sought after prize on offer. Thirty people in their respective teams were present last Sunday evening, ready to do battle. It was touch and go as the teams headed towards the break.
The usual Gate Supper was supplied during the interval as quizzers got ready to attempt the second half which proved to be light hearted and humorous. After a closely fought session the winning team on this occasion were declared as the Sulleys. Congratulations to the winners.
Another quiz next Sunday with the usual starting time of 8:00pm.
