PARISH COUNCIL: At the last Parish Council meeting held on the 14th October with Councillor Ron Beare in the Chair, Nine Councillors were present on the night with clerk to the Council Nigel Johnston on hand to record the proceedings.
District Councillor Tracey Taylor was in attendance for help and advice where required. A varied agenda came under discussion during the evening.
From the floor a concerned resident informed Council of a near accident on abad bend on Lound Low Road when they had to take evasive action by mounting a grass verge to avoid a serious collision taken place. Two bad bends in a short distance create problems when any large vehicles or HGV’s approach often failing to slow down to take in account of the situation.
Public Transport vehicles often on the wrong side of the road, because of the road layout also cause problems. Other villagers have voice concerns in the past and have had near misses! Councillors have inspected the site on previous occasions and passed on their findings to the appropriate authority. Council will review the situation and pass on the information.

The design is based on a wallet with inserts. The main insert will be ‘An Introduction to Sutton cum Lound’ and others have been invited (mid October deadline) from the School, church, pub, shop, Village Hall, annual report from the Chairman of the Parish Council, and all clubs/regular activities in the village such as the April club, Art Group, Burns Night, Flower and Garden Show, Gardening Club, Meet the Neighbours, Neighbourhood Watch, Village Fayre, Coffee & Cakes, and WI.
SIGN OF THE TIMES: As winter approaches and with the harvest safely gathered in observant villagers will have noticed that local farmers in line with Parish Council requests have once again made a start in clearing Ditches/Dykes on some of the village boundaries.
