
ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: 17th Century hymn writers are responsible for writing some of our most traditional hymns. Our Songs of Praise on Sunday 24th July tells their stories and some of what was happening in our church and the country at that time.
The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL: An extraordinary meeting will be held on Wednesday 21st July at 7:00pm at the Village Hall to guest speaker Simon Greaves regarding devolution.

TEA WITH MR DARCY: Tea with Mr Darcy; a food and fiction experience for Sutton cum Lound.
Judith Hedley who lives in the village has organised an informal and informative evening when we will enjoy her solid syllabub, rout cakes and ratafia biscuits, just as Mr Darcy would have done.
This is a new experience for the village and I hope you will support it, we could have more such evenings if this first one is a success. And the cost is only £3.50 per person, including Regency refreshments.
The event is on Friday 29th July 2016 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Village Hall.

GATE INN: Every Sunday night is quiz night at the local hostelry, commencing at 8:00pm. A unique quiz format has been created where the Quizmasters are the regulars themselves. They take turns in delivering their very own quiz. Every quiz is different covering topics from General Knowledge, Music, and even video quizzes.
All contestants can have a go at being quiz masters, or as many do just participate in the quiz to win either £15 or £25 prize on offer. The quiz is followed by a “Play Your Cards Right” game where the maximum prize that can be won is £100. All welcome.
COFFEE MORNING: The coffee morning was held on Saturday 16th July, by hosts Brian and Kathryn Seddons. The time where you can come along and meet friends and catch up on all the latest news and views from in and around the area.
THE GREAT SUTTON SHOW: Yet again this annual show went from strength to strength and the organisers would like to say a massive thank you to absolutely everybody that came to the Great Sutton Show, exhibitors, visitors and dogs !!
We had a fabulous day. Thanks to the organisers of the Classic Car Show for helping to bring the whole village together on one day and to our sponsors Jurassic Aquatics,Vitalin dog food, and Steve Tindal for the wonderful displays.
Figures to be confirmed but over £1200 raised for the PTFA Funds.
We will be back again next year 16th July 2017 so get the date in your diary.
CLASSIC CAR SHOW: A glorious day, where the masses joined to share a love for classic cars, bikes, trikes and buses! A Full report to follow but latest tally shows £288 raised towards the Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK).
The organisers would like to thank all of those who helped in any way, shape or form to make the day a success.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: When the ladies of Sutton and Barnby Moor WI met on Wednesday 20th July, “Chinese Cookery” was the topic, full report will follow.
