ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: At the local church on Sunday 28th August, “Songs of Praise”

The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.

PRE-LOVED ITEMS AND CAR BOOT SALE: The next table-top and car boot sale will be held at the Village Hall on Sunday 28th August with a 10:00am start (Sellers 9:00am).

Please note that all indoor pitches have now been taken but plenty of room for car booters at £5.00 per pitch.

ANNUAL FLOWER & PRODUCE SHOW: The gardening club will hold their Annual Flower & Produce show on Sunday 4th September in the Village Hall. Entries will include:

  • Flowers
  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Cakes
  • Pastries
  • Photography
  • Painting
  • and a Children’s section

Refreshments will be available, along with Plant Sales, Ice Cream, BBQ, Tombola, Auction and more. Entries are also welcome from surrounding villages.

Entries from 10:30am – 11:30am. Judging from 11:30 – 12:30pm.

Main show opens 12:45pm until 4:30(ish).

PIPES AND DRUMS: Retford and District Pipes and Drums still have a few vacancies for people who are interested in music. Tuition is available for people who wish to learn to play the bagpipes or drums! The group meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm at Barnby Moor Village Hall, Kennel Drive, Barnby Moor, Retford DN22 8QU.

QUIZ NIGHT: The quiz night at the Gate Inn on Sunday night again attracted a few new competitors. The winners this week were the team captained by Sanjiv and Wendy Sethi who are back to their winning ways even after a hard night the previous evening celebrating a birthday party ending in the number 0.

Another quiz at the local hostelry on Sunday night, usual starting time of 8:00pm.
