This is to inform you of upcoming essential highway maintenance on the A1 between Apleyhead and Markham Moor, Southbound direction only.
The work is due to commence from Monday 13th February 2017 and continue through until Friday 3rd March 2017. All work takes place overnight from 8:00pm until 6:00am, Monday through to Friday nights. No work is taking place on a Saturday or Sunday night.
The programme of works is as follows:
- Monday 13th February through to Friday 24th February (2 weeks) overnight (8:00pm to 6:00am) full closure of the A1 Southbound between A57 Apleyhead Junction and the A57 Markham Moor Junction.
- Monday 27th February through to Friday 3rd March (1 week) overnight (8:00pm to 6:00am) lane closures of the A1 Southbound and Northbound between A57 Apleyhead Junction and the A57 Markham Moor Junction
For the full A1 Southbound closures there will be a clearly signed diversion route for both local traffic and long distance traffic.
The main long distance diversion route will use the A614 to Ollerton then A616 and A46 to Newark. There will be other local diversion routes signed for local traffic.
Access will only be permitted for emergency services to be escorted through the works when required.
