ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 5th March, “Morning Prayer” will take place at the local church.

The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.

CAR BOOT/TABLE TOP SALE: Another sale will take place on Sunday 5th March at the Village Hall from 10:00am to 12:00noon (9:00am for sellers). £5.00 per pitch, limited indoor tables.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The next meeting will be on Wednesday 8th March at the usual starting time of 7:00pm. Members of the public are invited to join them.

POSSIBLE SCAM: A village resident received the following mobile ‘phone call last week: “Hello can I speak to Robin Banks  please?” When the reply was “sorry no one of that name here – you must have the wrong number,” the caller then decided to ask the householder if they were aware they may have been charge PPI in the past!? The resident ended the call abruptly.   Scam or just another annoying nuisance call?

BARNBY MOOR VILLAGE HALL: After a successful Ceilidh held at the hall in January, Barnby Moor will be holding a professional wine tasting evening at the Village Hall on Saturday 29th April 2017 at 7:00pm. Tickets are £15.00 per person and can be obtained from Mrs. Ann Fraser on (01777) 705 906 and are restricted to 35 participants.

Barnby Moor Parish Council meets every month, except August, on the second Tuesday at 7:00pm in the Village Hall.

SUTTON AND BARNBY MOOR W.I.: When the ladies met on Wednesday 15th February they were entertained by a popular young man from the village who enlightened them with educational tales from his school days at Harrow. Freddie Innes tales were not only humorous but educational and informative, accompanied by a powerpoint presentation with members going home with a mindful of new information.

SUTTON ART GROUP: Sutton Art group held a workshop with Elaine Nash on Friday 24th February using oil pastels in the style of David Hockney. The resulting pieces of work were very bright and different from the usual paintings produced. It was decided to follow this up with another workshop using watercolour based paintings as the starting point. These pieces of work plus others can be viewed on the art group website.

The group continue to meet every Friday morning throughout the year in the Village Hall from 10:00am to 12:00nooon

QUIZ NIGHT: Last Sunday night,  26th February, the winning team was the Worksop Mob who picked up the cash prize on offer, with the £100 prize on “Play your cards right” still waiting to be won. Same time this Sunday, 8:00pm at the Gate Inn.
