BARNBY MOOR VILLAGE HALL: Barnby Moor will be holding a professional wine tasting evening at the Village Hall on Saturday 29th April 2017 at 7:00pm. Tickets are £15.00 per person and can be obtained from Mrs. Ann Fraser on (01777) 705 906 and are restricted to 35 participants.

SUTTON ART GROUP: The group have now finalised the date of the trip to Ferens Art Gallery, Kingston-upon-Hull. The chosen date is Saturday 10th June 2017, leaving Sutton Village Hall at 9:00am with the return trip leaving Hull at 4:30pm. It is hoped to book the Village Hall car park for the day for members parking.
The cost is £15.00 per person and non-returnable payment should be made to – D.J. Mowthorpe. This will guarantee your place except if you are late booking your place and the coach is full! The coach is a 49 seater. A few seats still exist on the coach so apply now!
FERENS has a magnificent collection of paintings and sculptures, including works by European Old Masters, portraiture, marine painting, and modern and contemporary British art. Highlights include masterpieces by Lorenzetti, Frans Hals, Antonio Canaletto, Frederick Leighton, Stanley Spencer, David Hockney, Helen Chadwick and Gillian Wearing. Entry to all Hulls Museums and Galleries are free! Well worth a visit to the City of Culture 2017.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The council held its monthly meeting on Wednesday 8th March in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm with Councillor Paula Graham in the chair. A total of six councillors were present with apologies for absentees. Clerk to the Council Nigel Johnson was on hand to record the event and District Councillor Tracey Taylor was present for help and advice if required. Various items came under discussion during the evening including finance, planning and the lost post box.
SUTTON AND BARNBY MOOR W.I. The ladies of the local WI. met on Wednesday 15th March in the Village Hall at 7:15pm. A report will follow next week.
QUIZ NIGHT: Another good crowd in the Gate last Sunday for the Quiz with Andy as Quizmaster. The “No Brainers” won it with an impressive score of 52 out of 70 and walked away with the cash prize on offer. The cards stubbornly refused to release their grip on the £100 jackpot and it rolls over to next week when Nigel will be in the Chair as Quizmaster. Can your team compete?
