SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Council met on Wednesday 10th October in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm.

SUTTON GARDENING CLUB

The group met as scheduled on Tuesday evening 2nd October in Barnby Moor village hall with twenty plus members present. The guest speaker for the evening was Dr Patrick Harding, a well -known Botanist and wild life expert and conservationist. Club chair-person Jenny Bailey was on hand to welcome members old and new to the event and after the giving out of the official notices, was pleased to welcome Dr Patrick to the floor. The speaker addressed the meeting for an hour and a half, accompanied by a power point type presentation and all done without the use of notes or reference books, by a man who certainly knows his subject or subjects. Dr Harding has been giving illustrated talks for over 35 years to various groups including gardening clubs, probus clubs and women’s institutes to name but a few. An author of eight books the speaker has also featured in various radio and television broadcasts over the years. The local group have had many good speakers on various subjects in the past but with a great sense of humour thrown this has been one of the better ones in recent times and enjoyed by those present.
