ST BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH
Sunday 11th November is “Remembrance Sunday” and will be commemorated nationwide. The local church will also hold a service to remember the event.
The service starts at the later time of 10:15am and everyone is welcome. Please come along and remember.
SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL
The next meeting of the council will be held on Wednesday 14th November in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. The chair and fellow councillors invite you to join them.
YOUTH CLUB
The Youth Club continue to meet during term time on a Tuesday night in the Village Hall (except for the first Tuesday in the month) from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. New members are always welcome.
A few Tickets remain for the club’s forthcoming Christmas Draw which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 8th December, with major prizes to be won.
BARNBY MOOR FUNDRAISER
Don’t forget, on Saturday 17th November village residents will be holding a coffee morning in Barnby Moor village hall from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The event is being held in support of the recent Tsunami. This a very worthwhile cause and your support would be appreciated.
Admission is free, you only pay for your coffee, donations gratefully accepted. Further detail available from organiser Ann Fraser on (01777) 705 906.
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
The next MTN will be held on Wednesday 21st November at 1:15pm in the Village Hall. There will be the usual fun quiz and raffle and Nigel will once again provide a delicious home cooked meal. Everyone is welcome to come along. If you are not already on the list, please ring Joan on (01777) 818 492.
COMMUNITY DOG WALK
Approaching the festive season, a community dog walk is being planned and will hopefully take place on Sunday 2nd December. Further details to follow.
SUTTON ART GROUP ANNUAL EXHIBITION
When the local art group held their annual art exhibition on Sunday 4th November in the Village Hall from 11:00am to 3:30pm they experienced a larger turnout on the day than expected. With plenty of visitors through the doors, viewers were studying all the exhibits carefully looking for an outstanding work of art. They had plenty to choose from, with a large selection on show and all painted to a very high standard. Latest report indicates that the group had sold more entries this year than ever before!
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
The committee of the local association met on Wednesday 31st October in the village at the usual time of 2:30pm. A report will follow.
QUIZ NIGHT
The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. 8:00pm start and bar open.
