ST BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH
At the local church on Sunday 23rd December, a “Service of Shelter for the Holy Family” will take place. The service starts at 9:15am and everybody is welcome.
On the evening of 24th December, the blessing of the crib takes place at the later time of 6:00pm, and on Christmas Day, 25th December, “Holy Communion “ will take place at the usual time of 9:15am.
GARDENING CLUB
After a very successful season the club has released it’s programme for the new year. Beginning on Tuesday 1st January, members will try their hand at a quiz organised on their behalf! The prize on offer being a gardening voucher!

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
A good turn out on the evening of Friday 14th December, when the Neighbours met at the village for a communal buffet with approximately 50 people present. An enjoyable evening especially for the children and youngsters present. The attendance of the Brass Band made things seem a lot better and made a good evening great!

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
The ladies of the Sutton and Barnby Moor W I met on Wednesday 19th December at Sutton Village Hall at the usual time of 7:15pm and a report will follow.
CAROL SINGING
Carol singing took place at the village hall on Thursday 20th December, at 7:30pm. Father Christmas made a surprise visit to the village on the same evening, curtsey of North Notts Lions. A door to door collection took place in the village the same evening, with proceeds to the to the Lions for their excellent charity work.
YOUTH CLUB
The Youth Club continue to meet during term time on a Tuesday night in the Village Hall (except for the first Tuesday in the month) from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. New members are always welcome.
QUIZ NIGHT
The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. 8:00pm start and bar open.

We also have the Sutton Spotlight, which goes out to every house in the village on a quarterly (ish) basis. Space is sometimes limited, so try to get your entry in early.
We’re also lucky to have a village Journalist who collates news and updates for the Retford Times on a weekly basis. Get your copy in on Monday morning for the Thursday issue.
