ST BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH
The service at the local church on Sunday 2nd December, was a service of Lessons and Carols for ADVENT SUNDAY. Reader Joan Herrington was the officiant with worship leader Janet Webb in attendance. After a warm welcome and opening prayer the Advent Candle was lit. Various members of the congregation read lessons between the singing of carols, these were accompanied by organist and choir master Geof Webb. During the service, the choir perfomed on their own, which was very much appreciated. A very moving service as the festive season gets underway.
The next service on Sunday 9th December, the second Sunday of Advent, will be “A Sung Eucharist”. Please remember the earlier starting time of 9:15am, and everyone is welcome.
