PARISH LUNCH

An open invitation was offered to share lunch at the Gate Inn, the local hostelry in the village, on Friday 15th February at 12noon. The Gate Inn are giving the church all their support

NETWORKRAIL

Network rail have issued the following information: An annual level crossing test will be carried out at Barnby Moor and Sutton level crossing on Station Road in the village. The workings will commence on Friday 22nd February from 23:55pm until Saturday 23rd February at 5:30am. This may mean closure of the road during these times. The company apologise for any inconvenience caused by these essential workings.

RURAL MATTERS

As spring approaches and farmers prepare for the coming season, observant villagers will have noticed ploughing / planting has taken place, hedgerows cut back and the dykes over the level crossing have been cleared. The latter helps prevent any flooding in the event of exceptional heavy rains, as experienced in previous years.

Reassuring to know that old farming procedures are still being adhered to these days when so many cut backs are implemented in other walks of life.  Well-done Farmers.
