PARISH COUNCIL
The next meeting of Sutton Parish Council will take place tonight, Thursday 16th May, in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. You are invited to join them. Please note change of day on this occasion.
ST BARTHOLOMEWS’ CHURCH
The service on Sunday 19th May (5th Sunday of Easter) is a Family Service. Please come along and bring the family. The service starts at the usual time of 9:15am and everyone is welcome. Refreshments are served after each service.
MOBILE LIBRARY VAN
The library van will visit the village on Monday 20th May 2019, stopping at the usual places:
- Sutton Lane / North Road crossroads at 9:40am
- 22 Station Road at 10:00am
- 46 Station Road at 10:10am
- Town Street at 10:25am
- Portland Meadows at 10:45am
- Portland Place (garages) at 10:55am
SUTTON MEADOWS
The Grand Opening of Sutton Meadow will take place at 11:00am on Sunday 16th June 2019. The village will be having a Summer Fair with stalls, all from the village, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
BETWEEN YOU AND ME
Sutton Village Hall is the place to be on Friday 21st June at 7:30pm. UK touring presents, poet, broadcaster and comedian Ian McMillan who is appearing with musician Luke Carver Goss in a hilarious night of words, song and breath-taking comedy entitled Between You and Me!

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
The Neighbours group met on Wednesday 15th May in the Village Hall at the usual time of 1:00pm. A report will follow when to hand. Details of the group and its activities are available from organizer Joan Reiter on (01777) 818 492.
PARISH LUNCHES
The Parish Lunch took place on Tuesday 14th May as scheduled at the Gate Inn at the usual starting time of 12:00noon. This was yet another chance for diners to meet with their peers and enjoy excellent cuisine, whilst supporting the local church. CHURCH SERVICE
Last Sunday at the local church a “Sung Eucharist” took place with the Reverend Cora Yarrien officiating. Readings were carried out by Fiona Pagdin, the Gospel was read by Joan Herrington. Intercession: Dylan Boddy: Organist: Geof Webb.
GARDENING CLUB
Sutton and Barnby Moor gardening club met as arranged on Tuesday 7th May in Barnby Moor village hall at the usual time of 7:15pm. The speaker on this occasion was Linda Heywood who addressed the members on the growing of Echiums! Linda and Ray Heywood are RHS medal holders and have an award winning National Collection of Echiums displayed in a unique setting within the old Walled Garden at Thoresby Park Nr Ollerton Nottinghamshire. The star of the displays is the giant tree Echium, Echium Pininana, a wow factor plant growing to over 15 feet tall and endemic to the holiday island of Tenerife and loving the sandy soil borders in Thoresby. A very interesting and informative talk enjoyed by those present accompanied by a display of plants for sale on the night.

QUIZ NIGHT
The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. 8:00pm start and bar open.
