ST BARTHOLOMEWS’ CHURCH

At the local church on Sunday, 12th May, “A sung Eucharist” will take place. The service starts at the regular time of 9:15am and everybody is welcome.

SUTTON WARD

With the results of the local elections now confirmed, congratulations echoed around the village when local man Rob Boeuf,  standing as independent, claimed his place to represent the electorate of Sutton Ward. He won what conservatives considered a “Safe Seat” and won his seat with a large majority, as did many other independent candidates in the area.

PARISH LUNCHES

The next Parish Lunch will take place on Tuesday 14th May at the Gate Inn at the usual starting time of 12:00noon. A warm welcome waits.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

The Neighbours group will meet on Wednesday 15th May in the Village Hall at the usual time of 1:00pm. Please inform organizer Joan Reiter if you will be attending the event on (01777) 818 492.

PARISH COUNCIL

The next meeting of Sutton Parish Council will take place on Thursday 16th May in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. You are invited to join them. Please note change of day on this occasion.

SUTTON MEADOWS

The Grand Opening of Sutton Meadow will take place at 11:00am on Sunday 16th June 2019. The village will be having a Summer Fair with stalls, all from the village, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

BETWEEN YOU AND ME

Sutton Village Hall is the place to be on Friday 21st June at 7:30pm. UK touring presents, poet, broadcaster and comedian Ian McMillan who is appearing with musician Luke Carver Goss in a hilarious night of words, song and breath-taking comedy entitled Between You and Me!

GARDENING CLUB

Sutton and Barnby Moor gardening club met as arranged on Tuesday 7th May in Barnby Moor village hall at the usual time of 7:15pm. The speaker on this occasion was Linda Haywood who addressed the members on then growing of Echiums! CHURCH SERVICE

On Sunday 5th May, the 3rd Sunday of Easter, Lessons and Easter Hymns took place at St. Bartholomew’s, with Worship Leader Janet Webb leading the event. A variety of Hymns and appropriate readings by various members of the congregation took place. After the service worshippers were invited to remain for refreshments.

QUIZ NIGHT

The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. 8:00pm start and bar open.
