ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: The service on Sunday 8th December (the second Sunday of Advent) is a sung Eucharist. The service starts at the usual time of 9:15am and everyone is welcome.

PARISH LUNCHES: The next Parish Lunch (Christmas Lunch) will be held at the local hostelry on Tuesday 10th December at the usual time of 12:00noon.
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: The next MTN will be held on Friday 13th December at 5:00pm in Sutton Village Hall when we will be celebrating Xmas together. There will be a buffet followed by music and carols with a brass band. This is always provides a festive start to the season and everyone is welcome to join us. PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The meeting of the Parish Council took place on Wednesday 4th December in the Village Hall, (a week earlier than usual, in order to avoid prior engagements in run the up to the Christmas). A report will follow when to hand.
GARDENING CLUB: Members attending the December meeting of the gardening club, held on Tuesday 3rd December were looking forward to making a Christmas flower arrangement when the group met at Barnby Moor village hall. MOBILE LIBRARY VAN: The library van visited the village on Monday December 2nd, stopping at all the usual places.
CHURCH SERVICE: On Sunday 1st December the service at St Bartholomew’s Church was a service of “Lessons and Carols”. This was conducted on this occasion by Worship Leader Janet Webb. Organist: Geof Webb. The season of Advent began as the gathering celebrated Advent Sunday, a fitting start to the festive season.
SUTTON AND BARNBY MOOR W.I.: The ladies met on Wednesday 20th November in Sutton Village Hall at the usual time of 7:15pm. The guest speaker/demonstrator was Karen Kaye was on hand to show the ladies how to gift wrap presents the easy way. The ladies were delighted to learn the tricks of the trade and those receiving gifts during and after the festive season will be impressed by the wrapping of them as well the gifts inside. Well done girls!

QUIZ NIGHT: The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. Following the quiz “Play your cards right” – Cash Prize! Can you beat the local teams? Come along and try. 8:00pm start and bar open.
YOUTH CLUB: The Youth Club continue to meet on a Tuesday night from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Village Hall (except for the first Tuesday in the month). New members are always welcome.
