The club, like most other local activities groups in the area, followed government guidelines and postponed its monthly meetings in March until current restrictions are lifted. As we approach the new normal, the chair and committee of the club have been in touch with members on a regular basis, making enquiries with regards to health and general wellbeing and inviting members to contact them if required. The group organisers also prepared a small quiz online to boost moral whilst most were in lockdown. Keen gardeners put extra time and effort into their gardens whilst others just relaxed and enjoyed any good days when fair weather was present! Most are awaiting the all-clear from government. anxious to get back to the monthly gatherings and meeting up with friends old and new.
For details about the club and its activities please contact Jenny Bailey on (01777) 708 155. New members and visitors are always welcome.
Tracey Taylor, your County Councillor for Sutton Ward can be contacted at any reasonable time on mobile 07770 847 086, or office number (0115) 804 3177.
The demand appear to be levelling out but is still at much higher levels experienced by the Bassetlaw Foodbank prior to Covid.
PREPARING FOR RELAXING LOCKDOWN
- Step one is about encouraging people who cannot work from home to go back to work in safe and ‘COVID-secure’ workplaces, as well as encouraging people to take more outdoor exercise.
- Step two, at the earliest by June, will focus on the phased reopening of shops and getting the youngest children back into schools in stages; and
- Step three, at the earliest by July, will see the reopening of the hospitality industry and other public places, provided they are safe and social distancing can be respected.
Steps 2 and 3 are dependent on the severity of the re-infection rate in the coming months.
