The village Christmas Tree lights have now been fired up, so it must be that time of year again! Many thanks to the hardy volunteers who braved the bugs and weather to give us all a bit of Christmas cheer. Unfortunately we still have coronavirus restrictions in place, which meant no formal ceremony, mince pies, mulled wine, carol singing or public participations as we’ve had in previous years.

So, instead …

Christmas Eve Jingle 2020

This year, we’re encouraging people to have a Christmas Eve Jingle!

What is the Christmas Eve Jingle?

At 6:00pm on Christmas Eve 2020, go to your doorstep or into the street with your family (whilst maintaining good social distancing and bubble restrictions obviously) and ring any bells you may own for 2 minutes. The idea is to spread a bit of much-needed Christmas cheer, remind Santa and the reindeers that we’re all here despite the world-wide pandemic, and generally cheer everyone up after a depressing and exhausting year.

It would be wonderful if our neighbours and anyone living alone could hear the jingle bells on Christmas Eve. So, get out there and ring those bells!

Merry Christmas from the Parish Council

The Parish Council funds the Christmas Tree and Lights every year, and would like to wish everyone in the village a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy, Properous and above all Healthy New Year.
