MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
When the “neighbours” group met in the Village Hall on Thursday 18th November to join fellow residents for a communal meal, a higher than normal number of people arrived at the event. Regular diners were please to meet and greet fellow residents from in and around the area, many attending for the first time. Local chef and caterer Nigel Bower once again rose to the occasion and provided a very substantial meal for all those present. Organisers Margaret Boreham and Brian Seddons and their team of avid helpers served diners with a two course meal, followed by teas and coffees as required. A licensed bar operated during the session thanks to Brian and Kathryn Seddons. The usual brain teaser quiz took place, many guests struggling with their geographical knowledge on this occasion. The raffle in the capable hands of local resident Fred Payne was humorous and profitable for some but not for others, but with added banter was all taken in good part.
Many looking forward to the next meeting. Thanks must go to all concerned.
