ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH
On Sunday 9th January, the service at the local church related to the “Baptism of Christ”. Epistle Reading: Acts 8. 14-17. Readings from the Gospel: Luke 3. 15-17, 21-22. Intercessions: Janet Webb. Organist: Geoff Webb, additional music by Dylan Boddy. During the service, “Holy Communion” was administered by the celebrant, Father Adrian Mason.
The next service, on Sunday 16th January, is “Worship for All” and commences at the usual time of 9:30am. Everybody welcome.
VILLAGE HALL NEWS
QUIZ NIGHT
The first quiz of the New Year took place on Sunday 9th January 2022 where the knowledge of those attending was put to the test by quiz master David. The next quiz night will be held on Sunday 13th February from 7:00pm with the quiz starting at 7:30 pm, followed by Play Your Cards Right. Please ensure you book your place and carry out a lateral flow test before attending.
LIVE AND LOCAL PERFORMANCE
On Friday 22nd April 2022 the hall will be hosting its first Live and Local performance, Forget Me Not – The Alzheimer’s Whodunnit. This is a one-man murder mystery with a poignant twist. The show creator and performer, Rob Gee, has achieved the rare feat of combining serious and potentially upsetting subject matter and remarkable comedy into a respectful, considerate, entertaining piece of theatre.
Tickets will be £13.50 each in advance.
FUNHOUSE COMEDY CLUB
Following on from the successful Funhouse Comedy Club event last October, compère Spikey Mike will return on Friday 20th May 2022 to introduce a further 3 comedians.
Tickets will be £20.00 each in advance and include pie and peas.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
The next meeting of the group will take place in mid-January, and full details will follow when to hand.
DISTRICT COUNCILLOR
As reported last week, District Councillor Denise Depledge was arranging to hold her council surgeries on the first Saturday of the month from 9:00am to 10:00am in the Village Hall. This has now been confirmed, with the next surgery taking place on Saturday 5th February at the stated time.
